I am one of three County Commissioners in Perry County, Ohio!
Being a County Commissioner is about listening to the needs of every citizen and working every day in service to those citizens.
As a citizen, I certainly have opinions on most every topic. As a commissioner, it is my job to take care of the County and remain neutral in politics where I have no voting authority.
I am a lifelong Republican and citizen of Perry County. I have spent 39 years working in service to the people of Perry County in my professional and government life. I am concerned with every aspect of ensuring the business of Perry County is conducted with integrity and transparency.
On March 19th, 2024, I was re-elected to a third term of service as a Perry County Commissioner which means I will be happily serving through December 31, 2029. I believe in treating all citizens who request the County’s attention equally. My devotion to hearing all viewpoints and acting with responsibility and reason is a reputation I value and protect.
I am happy to attend meetings of groups, organizations and fellowships who have questions about county governance and who’d like to share ideas and concerns. Please contact me to schedule time!
I have lived in Perry County all my life. I served, with honorable discharge, in the United States Marine Corps. I respect the U.S. Constitution. My life’s conduct reflects deeply held moral values as a fiscal and social conservative. A lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic church, I am an active member serving as a lector and eucharistic minister.
Prior to my 2016 election as County Commissioner, I spent 30 years with the Perry Soil and Water Conservation District. In 2017 I retired from the Conservation District and successfully pursued the office of County Commissioner which I’ve held for two terms, about to enter my third in 2025.
My dear wife Katrina and I operate a small farm, Mt. Airy Ranch. We raise herds of grass-fed Black Angus and Texas Longhorn cattle. Mt. Airy Beef is the name of our beef production business and the food truck we operate. We enjoy going to festivals and other events throughout the area, meeting and spending time with our neighbors, cooking and serving our beef from the food truck.
My father before me was a farmer. He purchased the farm we now tend with his ‘city’ wife who came from Newark. The farm got the name Mt. Airy because of the breezes that blow across the crest of our hill and remembrance of a trip my parents made through Mt. Airy, North Carolina. My mother had never experienced country wind at the crest of a hill before and was in awe of its power. She loved this place and we are blessed to continue their legacy.
