UPDATED: Perry County Chamber Meeting – February 20, 2024
UPDATE: Over 40 people attended the Perry County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon held at the Thornville Champs and I shared the latest news regarding work of the Commissioners’ Office for Perry County. A major focus of interest was the topic of who has the authority to raise or lower our property taxes. I shared information I wrote up for the Perry County Tribune on the subject, including how to challenge your property appraisal and apply for an agricultural use designation which could save substantial money. That CAUV designation deadline is annual and it’s coming up the first Monday in March on the 7th. We’ve got the full article here on the website.
I always enjoy attending community meetings to hear concerns and answer questions. If your group would like me to attend your next meeting, please email me or call my office at (740) 342-2045 Monday – Friday between 7:30 – 4:30 pm – I’m happy to schedule a visit.
Tuesday February 20th, I will be speaking at the monthly Perry County Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Kim Barnhart, the executive director, organizes these lunch meetings at various restaurants around the county. This luncheon will be at noon at Champs Pizza, 14630 Township Road 1061 in Thornport.
Kim asked for some Perry County updates from the Commissioner’s office. There is an election coming on March 19th, and I am running for re-election, but this will not be a campaign speech.
I will take time to explain some of the greater topics and current events that are front and center around Perry County and will reserve most of the time for your questions. I would much rather have a discussion abouts topic of interest rather than deliver a speech.
The Perry County Chamber of Commerce is governed by Kevin Howell (President), Kathleen Danielson (Vice President), Board Members Jason Adams, Jeannie Allen, Bryan Bonkowski, Casey Coffey, Andrea Cullinan, Angela DeRolph, Bev Trovato, Angela Gussler, John Largent, and Polly Pletcher.
I’ll bring my best answers. I look forward to talking with everyone and will post an update here after the event.
