Perry County Tribune: Apparent gas leak shuts down new JFS building

NEW LEXINGTON — A smell of gas at the new Perry County Opportunity Center on state Route 37 East in New Lexington led to a closure of the facility last week, and crews were working to try to determine the nature and source of the gas. Nearly all services for the public have been maintained, and are being offered out of a mobile unit in the facility’s parking lot.

As of Friday evenIng, January 12, 2024, there has been additional progress in resolving this issue. I am optimistic that within the coming week we will have our JFS staff back in the building serving the people of Perry County.
